Healthy Eats

As I'm sure everyone already knows, a huge part of our overall health and fitness involves what we put into our bodies as fuel- FOOD!  At Revolution Fitness, we want to make sure our clients are improving their fitness not just through workouts, but through healthy eating as well.  This section of our website will focus on delicious and healthy foods that will satisfy your palate and nourish your body.

 

No-Cook Overnight Refrigerator Oatmeal

Ingredients:

1/2 Cup uncooked rolled oats (NOT steel cut)

1/2 Cup of your favorite milk (dairy, almond, coconut, etc.)

1/4 Cup of Greek yogurt

1 tsp. chia seeds

1 tsp. honey or maple syrup if desired

*For flavoring ideas, see below. Add to other ingredients.

 

Directions:

Place all ingredients into a container (I use glass pint jars with plastic screw-on lids), seal, and shake until combined.  Place in refrigerator and store overnight (or up to 2 days). Can be eaten cold or heated.

 

Note:

If using sweetened yogurt, reduce or omit sweetener.  Also feel free to omit the chia and/or yogurt.  You will probably need to play around with the ratio of liquid-to-dry to get your preferred consistency- you can always add more milk later if needed!

 

Flavor Ideas:

Pumpkin Pie: Add 2 Tbsp. pumpkin puree and 1/2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice

Chocolate Cherry: Add fresh or frozen cherries and chopped dark chocolate

Pineapple Coconut: Add 2 Tbsp. crushed pineapple 1 Tbsp. shredded coconut

Apple Cinnamon: Add 2 Tbsp. applesauce and 1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Or create your own flavor combinations!
